How does the farm work?

The farm is open to the public. We grow our own trees organically, meaning no pesticides or herbicides. When you proceed to the farm, parking is at the back of the building, clearly indicated. You can then walk the nursery at your own pace. All trees are tagged. When you have decided on the tree you want, take half of the tag with you to the office/gift store which is located at the west side of the building, also clearly indicated. You then pay for your tree and we will cut the tree for you or if you prefer to cut it yourself, we have saws available. We will then bale and net your tree and give you twine to safely secure your tree on your car. We will gladly help you with this.

What should I wear and bring?

We suggest that you wear long pants and boots. You will want to bring gloves. You should also bring a towel that you can get it wet at the farm and wrap it around your tree for the drive home. This allows your tree to absorb water while in transport, keeping it as fresh as possible after its been cut.

Do you have trees of this species? And do you have pre-cut trees available?

For now, we only grow our own trees, Virginia Pines as they seem to do well in this North Texas climate. As the demand for fresh Christmas Trees seems to considerably grow every year, we might consider at one point of having pre cut trees of different species available for our customers in addition to our home grown ones.

Do you have trees of this size?

Our organic homegrown trees available for purchase range from 5ft to 12ft + tall.

Do you have wagon rides available?

We do not have wagon rides but we do have a "hay station" for the kids.

How are trees priced?

Each tree is priced accordingly with a tag. We price the trees individually based on the height and overall quality of the tree. The size of our trees are ranging from anywhere between from 4ft to 12ft +. The price you see on the tag includes the tax. The trees range from anywhere between $100 to $300. In honor of your support, we offer a 10% discount (before tax) to military members & first responders (ID required).

Typically local, 100% organic farm products cost more than trees grown fast with concentrated fertilizers, sprayed with toxic chemicals (the cheapest and easiest way to deal with weeds, pests, and diseases), or grown elsewhere with low cost labor and shipped in by truck. Our 100% organic Christmas trees support the local community and keep your living room safe from the harmful pesticides.

The price of our trees also includes the true family time experience to a local Texas farm. You will enjoy the beautiful area of North Texas and our majestic true Texas Longhorns. It also includes the freshness of the organically grown tree, baling and handling, and of course hot cocoa. We will also assist you with tying your tree on your car.

Where do I pay for the tree?

You can easily pay for your tree and all of your other purchases via our mobile device. We accept cash and credit cards, no checks.

Do you take checks?

We do not accept checks.

We accept all major credit cards.

Are dogs allowed?

Pets are welcome but we ask that they remain on a leash and under owner control at all time as this is a working ranch with longhorns and horses on the property. We also ask that you keep them outside the Christmas tree area as pet urine might kill the trees. Please clean up after your pet. Service animals are an exception and are permitted in the Christmas tree area and inside the gift store.

Do you have a concession stand?

We have snacks and drinks inside the gift store.

Where are the bathrooms located?

Inside the gift store.

Is photography permitted?

Bois D'Arc Christmas Tree Farm welcomes photography on the farm.There are no fees for customers who come to pick up a tree during the tree selling season. Customers are welcome to take unlimited photos for personal use.

Professional photography is only allowed by appointment only, before Thanksgiving and after Christmas. No professional photography allowed during the tree selling season (Thanksgiving Day through Christmas Day). A session is defined as one family photo shoot. Do you have string for tying the tree on my car?

As a service to our customers, we will bale your tree and supply the string, free of charge.

Can I get help loading the tree?

We will be happy to help with tying your tree on your car.

Do you have a bonfire?

We have an open fire pit for roasting marshmallows (available for purchase inside the gift store).

Can I use my own chainsaw?

You can bring your own saw but no power equipment . We do have bow saws that you can use or we can cut the tree for you.

Do you have wreaths?

We have beautiful handmade wreaths for sale located outside and in the gift store.

Do you sell tree stands?

Yes we do. Table top and regular size tree stands.

Do you have a gift shop?

We offer unique decorations and gifts from local artisans, as well as different supplies for your tree. In addition we have select unique handmade other items from around the world that are made from small family owned workshops that follows Fair Trade practices and strives to improve the standard of living for their artisans. We also have delicious homemade bakery items (candied pecans, banana nut bread, pecan pies, sucre à la crème, cookies, jellies, spreads).

Do you shake all trees?

Yes we do have a “tree shaker”. This help with the unwanted Christmas tree bugs that may be hiding out and it will also get rid of the loose pine needles. Please take notice that some of the bigger trees cannot be shaken.

Will you bale my tree?

Yes we will, free of charge. Take notice that some of the bigger trees won't fit in the baler.

Do you have saws available?

Yes we do. You can also bring your own saw (no power equipment), and we can also cut the tree for you. We ask that before you cut the tree, you need to bring the portion of the tag to the store and pay for your tree.
